Lieve
has been active in lobbying and consulting for the past 20 years. During her nearly 15 years with McKinsey & Co, she was active as expert in European banking and insurance and helped formulate strategic, operational and organizational advice for numerous EU and non-EU financial institutions, with additional leading responsibilities for McKinsey’s European Financial Institutions Center (EFIC), engaged in research and analysis. Thereafter, as secretary-general of an international insurance association representing around 15% of the European market and 6% worldwide, she was instrumental in putting the sector on the map in Brussels and beyond. She began her career in the international department of BBL, now ING Bank.
Lieve has a Master’s degree in international studies from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, Bologna, where she was awarded the Groove Haines price; a B.A. (cum laude) in Philosophy, and a Law degree (Licentiaat) (cum laude) from KUL, Katholieke Universiteit Leuven. Lieve is married and has three children.
